I grew up in the Bellevue/Issaquah area of Washington state. I’ve been an athlete all of my life, with a 12+ years background in competitive swimming (national ranked) and water polo which ultimately led to my career in teaching.
In 1999, I completed my 1st of many lifeguard certifications. I began instructing aquatic based classes at swimming pools, water parks and beaches through 2015. During that time, I certified through ARC, YMCA and ALA Lifeguard Training Programs. To this day, I keep a current membership with the American Swimming Coaches Association and ASCA Swim Coach certification. I specialize in open water swim lessons and open water safety/rescue.
In 2010, my focus moved in the direction of land-based fitness. I fell in love with Vinyasa yoga and mat Pilates for the benefits of balance, flexibility, and breath awareness. I also became passionate about TRX Suspension Training, for the strength, flexibility and core focused components of the workout. I have a passion for challenging my students and helping them to take their practice and workout to the next level.
In 2011, I took my first TRX® education course and went on to complete the TRX® Suspension Training Course (STC), Group Training Course (GTC) twice and Advance Group Training Course (AGTC) certifications with TRX. Early on in my TRX journey, I created the format TRX Yoga Fusion, using the TRX® Trainer as the ultimate yoga prop on the mat. I also offer TRX Basics, HIIT, Cardio and Core Ball formats.
After completing my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training certification through Angela Wagner Yoga, my focus is guiding Power Flow style of yoga. However, I do enjoy slowing things down and offer my students a deep tissue, low to the mat experience in Restorative Yin classes.
In 2014, I decided to put my knowledge of water and land based exercise together. Through Bliss Paddle Yoga I was certified as a Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga instructor, a Level 1 World Paddle Association - WPA instructor, and then certified twice as a PaddleFit Core coach. I started my own Stand Up Paddle (SUP) business called Paddling Yogini LLC! I’ve now raced, paddled, practiced and taught on bodies of water all over Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Canada.
In 2017, I opened my own yoga studio in Issaquah, Washington called One Mind Yoga- Issaquah. A location where I can offer certified TRX Training, yoga for all ages/abilities, community foam rolling, family fitness and Stand Up Paddleboard fitness. My studio is Family-Friendly and welcoming to all walks of life, no matter where you are with your fitness journey. Parents can bring their little ones to play during Family-Friendly classes.
As a teacher, my passion is to make a positive impact on students’ lives. I believe through a healthy mind, body, and spirit you can achieve anything. I enjoy teaching all ability levels, beginners to advanced students.
As a mother, I feel a healthy lifestyle should be introduced to children at a young age and encouraged through their lives. I am very passionate about raising my three children and helping them learn to lead healthy lives of their own. I have 3 little yogis: a 20 year old daughter who is attending Idaho State University for a degree in ASL Interpreting. A 15 year old son who plays ECNL soccer (goalkeeper for Eastside FC), loves running, lifting weights, TRX, Yoga, and SUP. A 4 year old who loves being outdoors, playing sports, and attending class with his mama. They are my whole world and my motivation to create a family-friendly class environment.
